Sara Pakdel-Cherry (she/her) is an Iranian-Scottish artist who uses photography, printmaking, painting, sculpture, and film to explore the consolidation of the Islamic regime after the 1979 revolution while also enhancing her knowledge on her Persian heritage.
Sara is building an art practice based on her experiences as a Persian woman and hopes most of all to be a voice for women in Iran. Women, who at times are too scared to speak out, scared of the consequences. She hopes to illuminate the powerful feminine heritage of antient Persia, for the women of all generations in Iran, because men, conveniently, have tried to erase them from history.
